Yaf internship program

Young America’s Foundation’s internship program provides useful and effective training for student leaders preparing for a career in the Conservative Movement. Students selected to participate in the highly-competitive program receive unparalleled educational opportunities and benefits.

Internship Benefits

1

Exclusive Events

Young America’s Foundation’s interns attend signature conferences and seminars, free of charge. They hear from professors, Nobel Laureates, acclaimed authors, public policy analysts, and other dynamic speakers who help deepen their understanding of policy matters involving individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values.

2

Real World Experience

Interns have the exclusive opportunity to introduce guest speakers, often before a national C-SPAN audience, at these programs. This memorable experience provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for student leaders to develop and deliver a short public address.

It is no wonder interns often tell us they learn more from our programs in one day than they do during an entire semester at school! In addition to participating in conferences and seminars, interns learn invaluable skills working under the direction of our office staff.

3

Mentorship

Our experienced staff oversees the training of interns in a number of areas, including policy research, analysis, and writing.  We devote considerable resources to helping students improve their skills in these areas that employers often report are lacking in prospective hires.

Interns who work under the supervision of our staff to develop quality op-eds and blogs may enjoy the benefit of having their pieces published.

4

Scholarships

Interns are provided with a $1,500 monthly stipend, but you must find your own housing and have access to a car.  YAF does provide housing for interns in the midwest office.

Students who apply by the early application deadline will be given priority consideration for the internship. Should space still be available after the early deadline, all other applicants will be considered.
