Karalee serves as the Capitol Hill Outreach Director for Young America’s Foundation.
She first became familiar with YAF during her summer at The Heritage Foundation and was inspired to start a Young Americans for Freedom Chapter on campus at Samford University. The effort received national attention after some members of the faculty senate deemed the group “offensive to communists.” The organization was finally approved the day before her graduation.
Prior to joining YAF’s team, Karalee served on staff for Congressman Bruce Westerman and interned for Congressman Gary Palmer and Senator Joe Manchin.
Karalee is enthusiastic about encouraging students who intern in Washington, D.C. to further their involvement with YAF and inspire their peers with conservative ideas. She manages YAF’s Capitol Hill Townhouse which hosts the popular summer “Buckley Breakfast Club” speaker series and coordinates with YAF allies in Congress to run the important House and Senate Campus Free Speech Caucuses. This caucus ensures lawmakers fully understand the battle for conservative students’ ideas on campuses and influences federal legislation.
In her spare time, she writes on pop culture for the Federalist and cheers on the West Virginia Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
