Reports to: Program Director of the Reagan Boyhood Home

Location: The Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Visitor Center, Dixon, Illinois

Opening: Immediate

Job Summary:  The ideal candidate will possess a well-founded knowledge of Conservative ideas and the Conservative Movement; a commitment to building a strong and efficient working environment for fellow team members, and a commitment to preserving and sharing the legacy of Ronald Reagan.

The Office Operations Coordinator will work in close collaboration with team members at the Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon, Illinois, as well as those at Young America’s Foundation’s National Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, and the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, California to organize tours, ensure the visitor experience is world class, coordinate upkeep of the Reagan Campus and its facilities, oversee the development of the Reagan Boyhood Home Docent and Volunteer program, and assist member of the team as needed.

The applicant must be willing to travel. The coordinator will work closely with the team to develop an industry-leading presidential property and visitor experience as well as coordinate with key stakeholders within the community and nationwide.

The ideal candidate will have had previous involvement in Young America’s Foundation and experience with managing office operations and/or experience with historical sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep a working calendar of tour groups and events hosted at the Reagan Boyhood Home
  • Work closely with the lead docent/volunteer coordinator to maintain an active volunteer base and schedule
  • Develop working relationships with key members of the local community for the purposes of volunteer recruitment, event recruitment, and property improvements among other needs as it relates to the Reagan Boyhood Home
  • Communicate and coordinate with staff in other offices as needed
  • Ensure Reagan Campus facilities provide world-class experiences to visitors and serves as efficient and functional work areas for staff
  • Coordinate with outside groups to host world class experiences at the Reagan Boyhood Home

Basic Qualifications:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, namely Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and adapt to changes as necessary to meet the mission
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Ability to trouble-shoot problems and anticipate consequences of actions
  • Ability and desire to interact with guest from all over the world with enthusiasm and compassion
  • A burning passion to inspire others with America’s founding principles and values and advance the mission of Young America’s Foundation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous involvement with YAF
  • A grasp in promotional and marketing strategies and concepts; eagerness to learn more if needed
  • Familiarity with the Conservative Movement and current trends
  • Outstanding copy-editing skills

Specific physical demands that relate directly to the essential job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Frequently moves boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various office and special events needs; and
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
