Position: Development Associate

Reports to: Director of the Reagan Ranch

Location: The Reagan Ranch Center, Santa Barbara, California

Opening: Immediate

Job Summary: The Development Associate will support the development team at the Reagan Ranch Center in stewardship of existing supporters and discovery and cultivation of new potential supporters. The Development Associate will have the opportunity to learn about development from hands on experience and direct contact with supporters of Young America’s Foundation. They will play a vital role in the development process at the Reagan Ranch and work both in the background and on the front lines to inspire greater support of our life-changing work in the conservative movement.

Duties will include:

  • Coordinating with outside groups hosted at the Reagan Ranch Center to ensure guests have world class experiences at the Reagan Ranch.
  • Writing, editing and designing proposals, reports and other visual products for key supporters.
  • Working in conjunction with the Director, along with student program and development teams to organize and manage events, from creating a timeline, communicating with vendors, designing invitations, and other logistical details.
  • Assisting with supporter, Board members, speakers, and VIP communication, thank you notes, etc.
  • Arranging special preparations for VIP Ranch tours.
  • Assisting in the scheduling of Reagan Ranch tours.
  • Leading occasional Ranch tours as needed.
  • Assisting director and development team in maintaining donor recognition at the Reagan Ranch and the Reagan Ranch Center.
  • Creating memorable experiences for all guests visiting the Reagan Ranch and Reagan Ranch Center.
  • Maintaining inventory of books, gifts, and other YAF/office materials.
  • Assisting with responsibilities prior to and during events.
  • Assisting with coordinating invited speakers, managing book signings, staging photo lines, and arranging interviews.
  • Arranging special preparations for VIP Ranch tours.
  • Help manage office phone systems 

Distribution of Responsibilities:

Development: 50% Events/Programs: 30%
Writing and Graphic Design: 20%

  • College degree
  • Energetic and passionate about event planning.
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, and flexible.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative, constructive team member.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Graphic design experience
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to comply with YAF policies, procedures and practices
