This month, University at Albany students are being encouraged to attend a “Social Justice Summer Series” hosted by the state institution’s Multicultural Resource Center.
Topics will cover a range of issues, namely:
Threats to the Trans Community
The Refugee Crisis
Reproductive Rights
Climate Change
Gender Pay Gap
During the school year students routinely face pressure from the woke university system to become social justice warriors for the Left.
Universities have become training corps for the new generation of soldiers, armed to the teeth with platitudes, Instagram infographics, and cries of victimhood and oppression.
However, it seems that the University at Albany doesn’t feel that spring and fall are enough — students are still being bombarded with this one-sided, state-sponsored activism in the summer as well.
The summer series will take place through a video series and educational materials that will be made available on Instagram.
In this program, the university brings together a wide range of disparate topics, forcing association between unique issues. One might be sympathetic to the refugee crisis, but it is now impossible to maintain that opinion without subscribing to trans ideology or abortion advocacy.
This form of “social justice” is not unlike the spending bill: one must either sign off on it all, or reject potentially important issues.
There is no room for reasoned debate on each topic individually, but rather a demand from the mob that one accepts all of their varied social justice programs—no questions asked.
