The University of Alabama Young Americans for Freedom chapter excelled at spreading conservative ideas on campus this spring. In addition to campus debates that drew hundreds of students on campus, the YAF chapter hosted Ben Shapiro through Young America’s Foundation’s Fred Allen Lecture Series. Shapiro’s speech drew a standing room only crowd of students excited to hear from one of the nation’s most prominent conservative voices and has been viewed online more than 250,000 times.
Over 1,300 attendees gathered to hear Shapiro speak on the topic of life. “Following our events, students on campus continued the conversation started by Ben regarding the sanctity of human life and the negative effects of abortion in our society,” noted UA YAF chair Joe Ballard. Because of this event, UA YAF saw an influx in membership, and some new members noted that Shapiro’s facts-not-feelings presentation made them pro-life.
