Escape your leftist campus and recharge at YAF’s Fall College Retreat at the Reagan Ranch! Hear from some of your conservative heroes, be inspired by their stories and insights, meet like-minded activists and peers from across the country, tour Ronald Reagan’s famed Rancho del Cielo, and prepare to return to your campus ready to fight for freedom!

Students currently enrolled in college are eligible to attend this two-day program, which will give you an insight into the people, places, and ideas that shaped our 40th President, allowing you to better understand why and how Ronald Reagan changed the country and how you can do the same. The very essence of President Reagan’s character is found at the Ranch—his humility, optimism, hard work, love for freedom, and belief in the American Dream. The Ranch embodies his vision of what America was, is, and could be –a “Shining City on a Hill.”

Today, young people are taught that America is the exact opposite –a place of racism, oppression, and limited opportunity– and that our most important systems and institutions– the Constitution, free enterprise, free speech, and religious liberty among them – are simply instruments of this oppression. This program will help you grapple with important questions about American identity and better equip you to understand and defend the principles of freedom.

  • Meet and network with like-minded students and participate in discussion with fellow students
  • Receive valuable resource materials
  • Improve your critical thinking and debate skills
  • Become a young leader in the Conservative Movement!

This educational program will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12th and will conclude on Saturday, November 13th at 5:00 p.m. Students currently enrolled in college are eligible to attend.

THE TUITION FEE: The conference fee of $50 includes one night in a hotel, conference materials, transportation during the program, and meals from Friday dinner through Saturday lunch.

TRAVEL ASSISTANCE: Travel assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis for those with demonstrable financial need. Please email a brief essay (no more than a page) to that includes:

  • Language regarding your financial need
  • What you hope to gain by attending the conference
  • Your travel plans
  • The expected amount of your travel plans and the amount you are requesting. (For example, expected travel costs from ORD to SBA $500. I am requesting $200 in assistance.)
  • The subject line should read, “Fall College Retreat – Travel Assistance Request”

Please register for this program before submitting your travel assistance essay, and we will not consider your request until we receive this completed essay. Please note that travel assistance is not guaranteed and is allocated on a case-by-case basis. Incomplete essays will not be considered.

TUITION ASSISTANCE: Tuition assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis for those with demonstrable financial need. If you have financial need, please email a brief essay (no more than a page) to Conference Co-Director Madison Habersetzer at with some language regarding your financial need. We cannot consider your request until we receive this essay.

CAN'T FIND A FLIGHT OUT ON SATURDAY? For students who are traveling a great distance and are unable to fly out on Saturday night, there is an opportunity to stay at the hotel for an extra night at a reduced rate. Young America’s Foundation has a limited number of hotel rooms, available for a subsidized rate of $75 per student paid directly to the Foundation. To reserve a room, call Conference Co-Director Madison Habersetzer at 805-957-1980.

Students utilizing a hotel room subsidized by the Foundation on Saturday night agree to –

  • Continue to abide by the Foundation’s responsibility pledge, which they signed prior to the program. This includes the expectation that only students assigned to the hotel room will be sleeping in the room. Any infraction will eliminate students’ opportunities to participate in future programs.
  • Attend all required portions of the program,including an additional closing dinner banquet at 7:00 PM at the Reagan Ranch Center.
