Coulter, Pavlich, and Goldberg Reach Campus Audiences Nationwide
ANN WAS AMAZING, as expected. She was such a lovely lady. We couldn’t have asked for a better speaker. She engaged the crowd and students with kindness throughout the evening, and engaged the
Left, well, the way she always does—blunt and to
the point! We had a great turnout from students
at Auburn, as well as many other conservative
groups from around the surrounding states.
This was Auburn University student and event organizer Will Garton’s reaction to Ann Coulter’s speech to an audience of more than 400 students and
community members. The event, the first lecture
organized by the campus conservative club, was one of the most widely-attended programs of the school year.
Also in March, Jonah Goldberg spoke to students at Canisius College on his New York Times bestselling book, Liberal Fascism. Conservative student activist Kevin Pope believed that Goldberg’s speech was eye-opening for the liberals in attendance, noting,“The truth that fascism is created from progressivism may be a hard fact for some to swallow, especially for the liberals in the room who idolize men like Franklin D. Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.”
Foundation alumna and bestselling author Katie Pavlich continued to address campus audiences with speeches at DePaul University and Hillsdale College. The Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Hillsdale hosted Pavlich to speak on “Fully Loaded: Why Guns are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
Pavlich said she is specifically concerned with a
woman’s need to defend herself on a college campus. “A lot of people do not really understand this perspective,” Pavlich said. “I want to debunk myths and educate students about the Second Amendment.”
Prior to the speech, the YAF chapter hosted Pavlich at Hillsdale College’s gun range.
Other events during the month included the Wall Street Journal’s Steve Moore at Northwestern University and bestselling author Peter Schweizer’s address at Wabash College.
