Katie McMenamin, Director of External Relations
Katie is director of external relations for Young America’s Foundation.
Her first exposure to Young America’s Foundation was when a fellow student brought the 9/11: Never Forget Project to her campus, Virginia Tech. The following summer, Katie attended her first National Conservative Student Conference and has been active ever since—having attended other NCSCs, exclusive Foundation events at CPAC, and the Club 100 Reagan Ranch Retreat.
As a graduate student at Florida State University, she became an active member of FSU’s Institute for Conservative Studies (ICS). In this capacity, she helped to host events on her campus including the 9/11: Never Forget Project, Freedom Appreciation Day, and several speaking events featuring Foundation campus lecturers.
As the granddaughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Katie detests when anyone tries to brush communism under the rug. Naturally, her favorite campus event occurred when ICS partnered with the Cuban American Student Association to bring Foundation speaker Humberto Fontova to campus to expose the truth about Che Guevera and his murderous regime.
After earning her master’s degree, Katie returned home to Virginia to work on a gubernatorial campaign, inaugural committee, and fundraising before joining the team at YAF. She served as the Foundation’s conference director for five years before transitioning into her current role.
Katie lives near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, with her Marine husband, Joe, and their baby daughter, Celia.
