Lauren is Chapter Director for Young Americans for Freedom at Young America’s Foundation.
She is originally from Fairfax, Virginia and is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where she received a B.A. in political science with a concentration in legal studies.
Lauren first came in contact with Young America’s Foundation the summer before her freshman year of college after stumbling across an advertisement in National Review for the National Conservative Student Conference. Two years later, Lauren went on to start her own Young Americans for Freedom chapter where she held the position of chairwoman until she graduated in December 2015.
Lauren immediately shook things up on her campus when Virginia Tech’s Student Budget Board attempted to cut her club’s funding after her YAF chapter hosted Bay Buchanan to speak on illegal immigration. With the support of Young America’s Foundation, Lauren fought back, pressuring the university to justly reinstate the funding.
After her free speech victory, Lauren led Virginia Tech YAF in hosting various Foundation speakers including Herman Cain, Chris Horner, and Kate Obenshain. In addition, Lauren organized activism projects including, the 9/11: Never Forget Project, No More Che Day, Freedom Week, GPA Redistribution Project and more. In her last semester at Virginia Tech, Lauren led VT YAF in holding a “Funeral for Halloween” in order to expose the ridiculousness of the uproar over the “cultural appropriation” of Halloween costumes.
In addition to an appearance on Fox & Friends, Lauren’s activism has been highlighted on Cavuto and OutNumbered and featured by various national media outlets including Breitbart, FoxNews.com, Red Alert Politics and the College Fix. As a student, Lauren spoke about her experiences as a campus activist at various conferences and seminars.
Prior to joining the Young America’s Foundation team, Lauren interned with the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute and The Heritage Foundation.
