Savonia Vassel, Development Officer
Savonia serves as a development officer at the Foundation’s National Headquarters. Presently a college student in the Washington, D.C. area, Savonia is committed to passing on the ideals of President Reagan and preserving the principles of conservatism for the next generation. Due to her father serving in the United States Marine Corps, Savonia has been blessed to observe America from a wider lens. Savonia’s parents always cultivated conservative ideals to her and her younger sister, so it was a natural fit when she found YAF.
With a range in non-profit work Savvy; as many call her, has worked in philanthropic organizations in the greater Washington, D.C. area, such as Head’s Up, which was a program that addressed education reform at the primary level, and Athletes for Hope, which is an organization that helps professional athletes make a difference in their communities. Savonia deeply appreciates how YAF focuses on advancing freedom on high school and college campuses and like President Reagan and Young America’s Foundation, she believes that the youth of America are the future and deserve to be invested in.
Savonia has attended Young America’s Foundation’s programs and was inspired to deepen her involvement in the Conservative Movement during a visit to Rancho del Cielo and Reagan Ranch Center in 2013. Savonia’s favorite speakers include: Senator Ted Cruz, Michelle Malkin, Former Representative Allen West, Liz Cheney, Dr. Ben Carson, and Ben Shapiro. She is thrilled to work with Young America’s Foundation supporters to help build young conservative leaders and shape America’s future.
