Rancho del Cielo

Ranco del Cielo GateWelcome to Rancho del Cielo

After winding up seven miles of rustic road in the Santa Ynez Mountains just north of Santa Barbara and after crossing several cattle guards, you will find yourself at Rancho del Cielo—a "Ranch in the Sky" set on 688 acres of rolling, tree-covered hills. The Ranch was Ronald Reagan's home for nearly 25 years—serving as the "Western White House" during eight of those—and it embodies Ronald Reagan's character and ideals.

Monticello and Mount Vernon convey the distinctive personalities of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Similarly, Rancho del Cielo uniquely communicates the essential truth about Ronald Reagan. As Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney said, "The Ranch, I thought, symbolized a lot of America to him and its potential and its splendor … it kind of brought him closer to his version of American and what America was: the strength and capacity to grow and the clarity that you had from the top of the mountain, the brilliance of the landscape and the horizons, East and West."

On April 21, 1998, Young America's Foundation stepped forward to save the Reagan Ranch so that it could be used to pass Ronald Reagan's ideas on to future generations. Young America's Foundation is preserving the Reagan Ranch as a premier presidential historic site and as a place where young people are inspired by Ronald Reagan and the conservative ideas he championed.

The Ranch is now a living monument to President Reagan's character, leadership, and extraordinary accomplishments. It is the place to learn about Ronald Reagan—the president and the man.
