Young America’s Foundation mourns the loss of Conservative
Movement leader andHoward Phillips one of the founders of Young Americans for
Freedom, Howard Phillips.

Once recognized as Alumnus of the Year by Young Americans for
Freedom, Mr. Phillips dedicated his life to promoting conservative
ideas and was a frequent speaker at many conservative events. He
last spoke at the Foundation’s National Conservative Student
Conference in 1996.

“He was a great colleague and lover of freedom.  From his
earliest days as a student body president at Harvard University to
his presidency of the Conservative Caucus, he always stood tall for
freedom,” remarked Young America’s Foundation president Ron
Robinson.   “He played a strong leadership role in encouraging
his fellow conservatives to support the freedom fighters in the
Baltic nations at a critical point in time in the early 90s. 
All freedom-loving people mourn his passing.”
