Host Your Own Campus Showdown

Our Young Americans for Freedom chapter at the University of Michigan worked with us to bring Dinesh D’Souza and Bill Ayers to debate American exceptionalism in a campus showdown. It was guaranteed to be a good event, but even I was amazed by how much traction the debate received.

The main room filled to capacity within minutes, and we also filled two overflow rooms. More than 50 thousand people watched the live stream online. Our #YAFdebate hashtag pulled in more than 2 million impressions and trended in Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Ann Arbor, New York City, DC, and Northern Virginia.

It’s fair to say conservatism carried the night, as millions of millennials heard D’Souza and Ayers spar over free college tuition, immigration, foreign policy, and race relations.

What happened last week at the University of Michigan is a perfect example of how Young America’s Foundation can do for you what no other organization can: bring a conservative powerhouse like Dinesh D’Souza to your turf. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Young Americans for Freedom chapter, we mobilize to help any conservative student group bring the Conservative Movement to their campus.

It might seem like the Left, liberal professors and administrations, and social justice warrior students have taken over campus – sometimes literally. But YAF challenges them with the proven conservative ideals you know to be true.

No other organization has been taking on the Left and winning for decades on campuses across America. YAFers first rallied support behind Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, and William F. Buckley, and continue to support new leaders such as Ben Shapiro and Dinesh D’Souza.

No other organization has the reach, resources, or history that helps make your activism easy. And we put them all to use for you. With Young America’s Foundation, you too can bring a campus showdown to your school. Tweet @yaf, email our team, or call our freedom hotline (1-800-USA-1776) to get started making a real difference on your campus.

Spencer Brown is the Program Officer for Digital Media at Young America’s Foundation.
