Alex Lowman is a rising junior from Virginia Tech (VT) double-majoring in finance & management. His hometown is Ashburn, Virginia. He currently serves as the secretary for his school’s YAF chapter, is a member of the fraternity Beta Theta Pi, and is an ambassador for the business school at Virginia Tech. Alex joined YAF his freshman year, and has been very active on his campus, where he was surprised by the level of leftist activity. Prior to starting college, he expected VT to be somewhat conservative, given its origins and long history as a military institution. Some of Alex’s favorite topics to study and debate include immigration, the Second Amendment, and free speech. He shares his beliefs on these topics by hosting Foundation speakers, including Ben Shapiro, who are not afraid to stand up for conservative values on campus. In his free time, Alex enjoys snowboarding, working out, attending car shows, and working on his truck. Alex is excited to work for Young America’s Foundation this summer and learn more about the Conservative Movement.
