Young America’s Foundation received nationwide media coverage throughout February in newspapers, blogs, television, and radio.
The week of February 6, what would have been President Reagan’s 103rd birthday, the Foundation published an op-ed in the Washington Examiner titled, “Mourning Under Obama for Reagan’s ‘Morning in America.”
The Washington Times also printed Governor George Allen’s op-ed piece, “Remembering the Tax Reform Lessons that Reagan Taught.” Governor Allen serves as the Foundation’s Reagan Ranch Presidential Scholar and is a member of the Reagan Ranch Board of Governors.
Young America’s Foundation also was the first to break a story about Healthcare.gov being shut down on February 15—the day the Obama administration chose for “National Youth Enrollment Day.” The oped, “The Trainwreck Continues: Healthcare.gov to be Shut Down on National Youth Enrollment Day,” was featured on Red Alert Politics and was subsequently picked up by HotAir.com, Truth Revolt, and the Christian Post. YAF public relations officer, Ashley Pratte was featured on Cavuto twice this month regarding Obama’s executive order on climate hubs and Michelle Obama calling young people “knuckleheads.”
Pratte also discussed Young America’s Foundation’s latest polling and upcoming programs on the Faith & Liberty talk show.
Also in February, the Santa Barbara News-Press and C-SPAN’s BookTV featured Dr. Paul Kengor’s speech at the Foundation’s Great Beginnings student seminar, which was held in conjunction with the monthly
Reagan Ranch Roundtable. Dr. Kengor, who regularly speaks at Foundation programs, discussed his latest book, 11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative.
C-SPAN also recorded actor and author Joseph Phillip’s address at the Great Beginnings seminars.
During the final week of February, Pratte presented the Foundation’s Youth Misery Index at the National Press Club in a briefing to national reporters. The presentation received great coverage from the Washington Times and Townhall.com.
On February 28, Jonathan Last, senior writer for the Weekly Standard, wrote a column—”Learning to Love Reagan”—which highlighted his recent visit to Rancho del Cielo.
