• March Liberal Madness

3/15/2010 4:53:11 PM Posted by Patrick Coyle

Gore YellingYour club can dedicate a week towards the end of March to highlight the most outrageous statements made by liberal leaders. The Left never hesitates to remind the public when a conservative misspeaks. Yet many outlandish remarks made by prominent liberals go unnoticed by the general public and the media.

You can use a bracket system similar to the NCAA Basketball Tournament to highlight sixteen of the most radical liberals and their extreme statements. This activity will encourage participation from other students and, if marketed correctly, build anticipation as to who will be voted by students as the "maddest" liberal in the country.

Young America’s Foundation has already compiled a list of sixteen liberal leaders and their top "moment of madness."

Begin by reserving a table in the student union or another high traffic area on campus for the entire week. Announce your plans to the local and campus press and advertise that students can come by your location to begin voting.

Create your bracket system on a dry erase board, chalk board, or poster board that can be displayed by your table. On each bracket, include the name and the picture of each leftist. Consider purchasing Velcro strips that can be attached to each name to allow you to move the name to the next series of brackets

    • Two things: 1. In your flyer, why does the word "Liberal" appear like a rainbow? Is it an attempt to subliminally mock the GLBQT (that's gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and transgender) movement? 2. Not a single quote or fact in the flyer has a single reference. The problem with that is that whoever put this together could have taken quotes completely out of context, or, might have made things up!

    • Stockman was a blight on the Reagan adtoinsmratiin and in a great part why we did not return to a gold standard under Reagan. Never forget that Stockman is attributed with using trickle down to describe the Reagan economic plan.Stockman is what Mises would call a deflationist. He follows the Eisenhower formula of balance the federal budget first then you can worry about producing goods and services. Stockman does not understand that production and consumption are two sides of the same coin. As strange as it is, he is as much a demand side economist as Keynes only he is on the other side. Because he wants to solve our economic problems by first balancing the budget, he has advocated a combination of tax increases and government spending cuts. That is the formula that sent the UK back into recession recently.Sadly, too many are seduced by Stockman's comments about Federal Reserve monetary expansion because the Federal Reserve is wrong in its approach to monetary expansion. But just because Stockman is right on the issue does not mean he is right on the reason Federal Reserve policy is wrong.

No, he follows the fumorla: (1) balance the budget and (2) let the free market dictate what goods and services are produced. These two forces operate on separate threads.
