After exposure from Young America's Foundation, California lawmakers, and the public, Fox News reports UCLA has decided to shut down National Dream University (NDU).

The cost of 18 credits at the NDU, which planned to admit illegal immigrants, was set to be $2400-less than half the cost of 18 credits for in-state students at UCLA.

But even more public outrage came from the program's admission requirements. UCLA professors teamed up the National Labor College (arm of organized labor) to design this program to train liberal activists using tax payer dollars.

Out of four admission requirements, one was to "demonstrate commitment to immigrant/labor rights and social justice."

One of the professors in charge of NDU, Kent Wong (director of the UCLA Labor Center), is a known radical and refused to answer Fox News' questions on NDU. Wong recently told a group of activists at a rally, "you will go onto become lawyers and teachers and doctors and members of the U.S. Senate to replace those old white men."

Thankfully, UCLA decided not to allow its professors to carry out this program, but NDU and programs like it ma y not be completely dead. UCLA's given excuse for ending the program was procedural, saying the professors and departments "did not go through the proper channels" to create the program.

In response to a legislative query, University of California President Mark Yudof said, "UCLA's actions do not preclude a future agreement between the Labor Center and National Labor College."

So, NDU or another Leftist training program like it could still be back next year. Stay tuned…
