In the wake of the tragedy in Aurora CO, the Left has yet called for more gun control laws. Besides their blatant disregard for the Second Amendment, they fail to realize that guns keep law abiding citizens safe.

In Ocala, Florida, an elderly man thwarted two would be robbers with his gun. By firing his .380-caliber pistol at the criminals, Samuel Williams is a hero to all the patrons in the internet café.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, a violent knife-wielding criminal went on stabbing rampage. A law abiding citizen nearby stopped the suspect by pulling his gun and telling the man to drop the knife. Two people were seriously injured but an untold number were saved by the courageous gun owner.

Then there is the April shooting in Aurora, Colorado. A man, recently released from prison, drove to a local church, crashed his car, and then opened fire on those that came to help him. He killed one woman before being shot and killed by an off-duty police officer attending church

Where was the national media to cover these incidents? Where was ABC's Brian Ross?

The media seems to forget that incidents like the latest Aurora shooting are tragedies that can be and are prevented by law abiding gun owners. Guns, in these situations, have prevented criminals from killing or seriously injuring more people.

Criminals are going to get weapons, and it is up to law abiding citizens to arm and protect themselves.  Those exercising their right to keep and bear arms are doing all of us a favor.
