22 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, America’s youth face a new wall we must break through: the Obama Administration’s job-killing policies.
Just like the East Berliners and those trapped behind the Iron Curtain suffered from the oppression of big government, so do young people suffer today from big-government policies. The Obama administration’s jobs policies are the new wall between young people and freedom.
While there’s no doubt that our government’s policies aren’t nearly as oppressive as the Soviet regime, the Obama Administration’s policies have become a major barrier to financial freedom for young Americans. Since the Obama Administration took office, Youth unemployment has reached a 65-year high and 85 percent of last year’s college graduates are stuck at home living with their parents.
Here’s why: (Pamphlet: “10 Reasons the Obama Administration’s Policies are Killing Jobs”).
Young people can fight back by celebrating Freedom Week on campus (Sign up). Freedom Week commemorates two important dates: the fall of the Berlin Wall (November 9) and Veterans’ Day (November 11).
This year, remember these days by standing for the ideas behind them. Young people must fight for financial freedom, or we will be indentured to the government for life. We must also stand with the men and women who risk it all for America’s liberty.
This Freedom Week, Young America’s Foundation encourages students to:
- Tear down a mock Berlin Wall at the exact time the Wall first opened in Germany at 4:30 p.m. EST.
- Distribute Young America’s Foundation fliers and posters (available free here).
- Encourage your campus to hold a moment of silence on Veterans’ Day.
- Pass out “10 Reasons the Obama Administration’s Policies are Killing Jobs” pamphlets (Order free here) to educate fellow students on the new fight for freedom.
