  • Teacher Demands Che Fliers be Removed from Student's Locker

10/10/2011 2:27:36 PM Posted by Ron Meyer

Che LockerLast weekend, campuses across the country celebrated No More Che Day. They used the Foundation's Victims of Che Guevara poster and our other flyers to educate students that Che was truly a murderer and thug.

Matt Monos at Columbia Independent School took part in No More Che Day as well, and he chose to post the flyers on his locker. By doing so, he was able to educate many of his peers on who Che truly was.

Evidently, some of the teachers at school felt otherwise. Matt was approached by a psychology teacher and was asked to take them down because he didn't receive permission. This is despite that students at school routinely decorate the outside of their lockers with other images. Conservative view points are obviously frowned upon.

Matt writes, "I feel that there was absolutely no reason to make the order as the only rule they have applies to handing out flyers and hanging them. On the same note, the handbook states that I may place any school appropriate materials on my locker. I was not handing out the flyers or hanging them anywhere not technically under my control, and I simply posted those three pictures as decorations to my locker. I see nothing inappropriate with what we did. The pictures had interesting quotes and at least had educational function, versus spelling out Mila Kunis' name." Kunis Locker Decoration

    • Proud of you Matt for standing up for your principles and beliefs! It's shameful that schools are the ones repressing speech in America!

    • It's unfortunate that some teachers feel threatened by a student who is able to teach the teacher something important about history! Good job, Matt! Keep up the great work! Keep thinking and questioning with boldness!

    • Right Roschelle, how dare she bill the state for what she is entitled to under Alaska's laws.a0 She was such a swnilder that she even managed to outspend the previous governor. Gov. Palin has spent far less on her personal travel than her predecessor: $93,000 on airfare in 2007, compared with $463,000 spent the year before by her predecessor, . He traveled often in an executive jet that Palin called an extravagance during her campaign. She sold it after she was sworn into office.Oh, wait a minute, she didn't out spend him, she only spent 20% as much a0 Damn, there goes that meme You should try reading beyond the headline.a0 Of course, your marching orders probably only included the headline, and a tee he .Hey, in the interest of fair play, how about a full disclosure of Obama's and all of Congresses travel patterns.a0 Then we can see who is corrupt and who is not.
