The Band of Patriots was founded by Matthew Monos and Bryan Thomas on July 29th, 2011. After attending the National High School Leadership Conference (NHSLC) hosted by YAF from July 6th to the 9th, they were inspired to take meaningful action to combat the parasitic spread of liberalism.
By networking through Twitter, they exchanged ideas and decided to form an online presence together, dedicated to promoting conservativism, while providing commentary from a young conservative's viewpoint. Together, they formed the foundation for a growing coalition of bloggers. They launched the site on August 2nd, the 235th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Within their first week of operation, they've added two more writers, both attendees of the NHSLC, Casey Urey and Jane Cooke. Together, the four writers have written on issues of varying subjects, such as Matt Damon, welfare dependency, and the history of American Debt.
Expect to see some of their posts also here at YAF.org's "The Quad."
