Ahead of another visit to the gulf and his first address from the oval office, President Obama said today that the British Petroleum oil spill was similar to the 9/11 terrorist attack.
Chalk this up as yet another Presidential gaffe.
Observers were quick to comment that the President was, “off base.” Others questioned why the President chose the 9/11 terrorist attacks and not Hurricane Katrina, which seems like a somewhat logical comparison.
British Petroleum has become the butt of the joke so to speak, given their perceived lack of a logical response:
But the President is not getting off easy either. The President has an abysmal -18 Approval Index Rating, according to Rasmussen Reports.
Perhaps the President will take a moment of his time tomorrow night during his address to the nation from the Oval Office to apologize to the 9/11 victims and their families for making this offensive comparison. Until then, however, this gaffe is unfortunate to say the least.
