Students and young people will be rising up in outright
horror at the flagrant usurpation of individual liberty we saw occur last night. Never before, and by such a
narrow margin, have we seen the federal government take over such a massive
portion of the U.S. economy or such fundamental rights of the people to
determine their own future. The
President was not just throwing around campaign platitudes when he said we were
going to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” He meant it.
And we just saw it happen.
This arrogant government power grab has robbed our young
people of their future. Pure and
simple. This bill will not cost them
billions. The price tag will be
trillions. There is no way for our
economy to stand the enormous burden of this new entitlement. There
is no way for subsequent generations to pay back the debt it will create. This sly administration has worked it so that
it will not feel the economic tsunami—they have put it off just long enough to
leave it to others. That is not bold
leadership. It’s cowardice. Today’s college students, and those who come
after them, will be the ones to face it.
The quality of your future healthcare is guaranteed to be
diminished, significantly. There will be
less money for innovation and research.
The liberal administration is determined that doctors spend more and
make less. Consequently, there will be
fewer doctors and certainly fewer excellent doctors as the best and the brightest
look to other professions, unwilling to be pawns and serfs to a tyrannical government. Individuals will not have options for their
healthcare coverage, or for their health care services. The government will decide what coverage
everyone gets, and who gets what care. Whereas
your parents and their parents had access to the best, most innovative medical
care in the world, you will be subject at best, to mediocrity.
Young people, you are witnessing an epic fail. Your government,
as it says you can’t handle your own future, has stolen it from you. It’s up to you to get it back.
