"We are the PRO-LIFE GENERATION! We are the PRO-LIFE
This morning a momentous decision was made that helped to define
the path of the Pro-Life movement. The Supreme Court ruled in favor
of religious family-owned business Hobby Lobby.
The court case had made it all the way to the Supreme Court and
I had the opportunity to be there with Young Americans for Freedom
as well as Students for Life activists to await the decision.
For an hour we chanted, clapped, yelled and held up our YAF and
pro-life banners in the intense Washington, DC heat. By the end our
voices were sore, our legs were tired of jumping, our arms hurt
from holding up the signs above our heads and our shirts were
soaked from the intense heat beating down upon us.
But we didn't feel a thing. Standing there in intense
anticipation we waited, chanting, cheering, hoping and silently
praying that our individual freedom and liberty would be
"I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN."
As we chanted these words we all held onto the hope that our
nation was founded upon, preparing our hearts and minds for the
worst, but hoping and praying for the best.
And then it happened. I will never forget how it felt to be on
the steps of the Supreme Court as such a momentous decision was
made. A great crowd of people flooded out of the Supreme Court and
the crowd below started to go wild.
It feels pretty good to be a part of history being made. The
crowd around us embraced, we jumped, some people cried, we laughed
and erupted into a joyous mob of exaltations.
And that was when I knew. I knew why I was a part of Young
Americans for Freedom, why I believed in freedom and individual
It's moments like these- to be present and stand up for life,
for liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I truly do believe that with Young Americans for Freedom and the
Conservative Movement, we truly are the PRO-LIFE GENERATION.
