Ashley Weaver is the director of alumni relations for Young
America's Foundation. Her goal is to actively engage
participants of Young America's Foundation student programs as they
move on to impact and advance the cause of conservatism beyond high
school and college.
As a political science major at Grove City College, Ashley had
best-selling author and Young America's Foundation speaker Dr. Paul
Kengor as her professor and advisor. His commitment to
conservatism and admiration of the American Presidency,
particularly Ronald Reagan, led to the opportunity for her to be
chosen as a Sarah T. Hermann Intern Scholar at the Reagan Ranch in
Santa Barbara, California, during the summer of 2000. During
her internship, she attended the National Conservative Student
Conference in Washington, D.C., catalogued and archived the special
letter collection from Loraine Wagner (Ronald Reagan's long-time
pen pal) and enjoyed visiting "Rancho del Cielo"- It also set the
course for the rest of her life.
Upon moving to the Washington, D.C., area in 2006, her
involvement as a Young America's Foundation alumna helped her
obtain the assistant director of planned giving position at the
National Rifle Association of America. It was there she met her
husband, Kyle, and where she worked until joining the Foundation's
team May 2014.
Ashley, her husband, and their two daughters reside in Leesburg,
Virginia. In her spare time you might find her enjoying the
outdoors with her kids, shot gunning or upland game hunting with
their bird dogs, or racing triathlons.
