Young America's Foundation's 22nd annual
"Commencement Speakers Survey" reveals that 43 liberal
speakers and only 9 conservatives are scheduled to speak
or have already spoken at the 2014 commencement ceremonies for the
top 100 universities as listed by U.S. News and World Report.
Star-studded examples of imbalance include Secretary of State
John Kerry speaking at Yale University and
Boston College. House Minority Leader Nancy
Pelosi will keynote at the University of
California-Berkeley commencement, Michael
Bloomberg is speaking to Harvard University,
Janet Yellen will be speaking at New York
University, and Vice President Joe Biden will
give graduates one last dose of liberalism at the University of
Liberal media will be all over college campuses this spring,
too. The former New York
Times Executive Editor, Jill
Abramson will be speaking at Wake Forest University.
A plethora of other liberal media talking heads, including MSNBC
host Chris Matthews, is addressing graduates. For
perspective on the overwhelming bias, News Corp., which owns Fox
News, the number-one ranked cable news station and The Wall
Street Journal, the newspaper with the largest circulation in
the county, has zero personalities speaking this spring.
It is interesting to note that of the 9 conservatives speaking,
all except Jon Huntsman and Sen. Johnny Isakson (GA) are not prominent.
