In spite of all the attempts to persuade viewers otherwise, 47% of mainstream media news channel viewers agree that the federal government is hurting economic recovery. According to a survey launched by Young American's Foundation and conducted by the polling company, inc., nearly twice as many students believe that the federal government is mostly hurting economic recovery.

Looking closer at the numbers, 58% of students polled who watch Comedy Central held the highest belief that the federal government was hurting the economy-in second was the 49% of students who watch Fox News. Surprisingly, 47% of students who watch CNN also agreed that the federal government was hurting the economy.

Therefore, even with rampant statements from leftists and their comrades in the media, many students across the country believe that government involvement is hurting the economy and want the government to get out of the way.

Ben Smith is a rising senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he is double majoring in political science and history with an American concentration.

    • What you conveniently fail to acknowledge is that the same 58% want the government out of our personal lives as well.

    • Sometimes QuotesChimp are dishonest by keeping quiet. Since an insurance contract is a contract of utmost good faith, failure to reveal a matter material to the underwriting decision of the insurance company may again be grounds for loss of benefits. For example, if you know that a forest fire is heading toward your house, you can't call a property insurance agent, get an agreement for immediate coverage (see "Where Does Coverage Begin?" below), and expect to collect benefits when your house burns down. That just wouldn't be cricket.
