  • YAF Remembers Comedian Jonathan Winters

4/12/2013 5:09:45 PM Posted by Adam Tragone

In June 2009, some of Ronald Reagan's friends shared their thoughts about our 40th President at the Reagan Ranch Roundtable held on the fifth anniversary of President Reagan's passing. In attendance were retired California Highway Patrolman Dennis LeBlanc, Reagan biographer Lou Cannon, Secret Service Agent John Barletta and comedian Jonathan Winters. He was a surprise addition to the panel and shared his Reagan anecdotes with his trademark humor.

Winters, 87, passed away late in the evening of April 11.

    From the New York Times:

Jonathan Winters, the rubber-faced comedian whose unscripted flights of fancy inspired a generation of improvisational comics, and who kept television audiences in stitches with Main Street characters like Maude Frickert, a sweet-seeming grandmother with a barbed tongue and a roving eye, died on Thursday. He was 87. A family friend, Joe Petro III, said he died Thursday evening at his home in Montecito, Calif., The Associated Press reported.

Here are some pictures from the Roundtable event:

Mr. Winters will be sorely missed.
