Hillary Cherry is an active senior at Purdue University. She is studying Political Science, Organizational Leadership and Supervision, as well as obtaining a minor in Criminal Justice. She plans to attend law school after graduation.
Hillary is very involved on campus. She is a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and also devotes her time to conservative activism. After attending her first National Conservative Student Conference (NCSC) in 2011, Hillary was inspired to help accomplish the Foundation’s mission. As a result, Hillary has continued to attend conferences through Young America’s Foundation such as the West Coast Leadership Conference in addition to the Freedom Conference. With the motivation to make a difference in the Conservative Movement, Hillary began writing a conservative column in The Odyssey, a paper published for the Purdue University West Lafayette campus.
Hillary is currently the Director of Marketing for the Conservative Club on campus. Thanks to her involvement, and the Campus Conservative Battle Plan, events such as
9/11: Never Forget Project, “No More Che Day,” “Freedom Week,” “Education Reform Forum”, and “Stand Up for Israel” have become annual events at Purdue University. With the confidence, knowledge and the tools she gained from each conference, Hillary applied for, and was awarded an intern position working for the Indiana State Senate during her previous spring semester. During her internship she was fortunate enough to be involved with and witness to Indiana history as the “Right to Work” bill passed through legislation.
As an intern for Young America’s Foundation, Hillary understands the importance of spreading the ideas of traditional values and individual freedom to her peers. She strongly believes that less government is essential to guarantee individual freedom. Hillary is deeply rooted in her values and will continue to promote them and help educate young citizens.
