  • NCSC 2012It's inevitable, undeniable, and irrevocable; the young people of today are the leaders of tomorrow. It's necessary and straightforward; the millennial generation is tasked with steering this great country in the right direction. It's scary; the heavy burden that lay upon a population of young adults. Many of which have been denied answers, and far too often, truth, on their high school and college campuses. Education has become indoctrination and liberal bias in the classroom goes unchecked more times than not. For freedom to be secured in the future, this reality must change. One of the best ways to help make that difference is to become involved with Young America's Foundation.

    Every single day, you can help expose liberal bias at your school. You can stand up and fight back, you can be a light, a liberator, and an enabler for those brainwashed and left in the dark. To do so however, you must be prepared. At YAF conferences and seminars, you can build your knowledge and network around strong conservative ideas and people. Hearing some of the most prominent conservative thinkers in the Movement today speak at these events will help equip you with arguments needed to effectively debate the Left.

    As a student, I participated in multiple Foundation programs. Taking advantage of these wonderful opportunities allowed for me to further grasp and understand the core beliefs of conservatism. By what I learned, I was able to strengthen my positions and in turn, use them to rescue a myriad of young misinformed adults. Further, nearly all the contacts and friendships I made at these conferences proved to be lasting and I've benefited by most all of them. If you register quickly, this too can be part of your experience by attending our National Conservative Student Conference (NCSC) next week. Each summer, passionate college students from all over the country come together in Washington DC at our NCSC to refine themselves for the following school year. This time around, Speaker Gingrich, Senator Rubio, Senator Scott, Herman Cain, Dr. Walter Williams, Katie Pavlich, and many others are all scheduled to be there. This particular program is the best way to get ready for activism and defense of conservative ideals.

    Considering the self-obvious impact YAF had on me, I also decided to use my inspiration to start a Young Americans for Freedom chapter at my university. These different options are possibilities for you too. It just takes some passion and effort! Without both those ingredients, our generation will remain apathetic and complacency will win. If that happens, if we fail, the responsibility of protecting freedom won't be passed along to our kids because freedom itself will simply cease to exist. President Ronald Reagan once famously stated, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free." -- Together, we can overcome the challenges ahead. Together, we will carry the torch, and safely perpetuate our exceptional heritage.
