"Through his western novels, Louis L'Amour has played a leading role in shaping our national identity. His writings portrayed the rugged individual and the deep-seated values of those who conquered the American frontier. Starting out from humble beginnings, he has lived a fulfilling and adventurous life. An eminently successful writer, more than 100 million copies of his novels are in print, L'Amour's descriptions of America and Americans have added to our understanding of our past and reaffirmed our potential as an exploring, pioneering, and free people." - President Ronald Reagan, Remarks at the Presentation Ceremony for the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Young America's Foundation is pleased to welcome Kathy L'Amour and Beau L'Amour, the wife and son of President Reagan's favorite author, Louis L'Amour, to the Reagan Ranch Center for a special event celebrating Ronald Reagan’s birthday and the spirit of the American West.

To inspire us with the same Western values found in the pages of the books that meant so much to Ronald Reagan, noted Western author and publisher Bill Reynolds will interview Beau L’Amour about his father’s life and work, and will highlight the launch the very first graphic novel based on the work of Louis L’Amour, Law of the Desert Born.

We invite you to join Young America's Foundation president Ron Robinson, Secret Service Agent John Barletta, and other friends of the Reagan Ranch for this special event.

The event is free, but RSVP is requested as space is limited. Please call (805) 957-1980 to RSVP.

In addition to the evening's keynote event, we will be celebrating all day at the Reagan Ranch Center with Western films shown in the movie theater, refreshments throughout the day, special open house tours, and Western exhibits. Invite your friends and family to experience the Reagan Ranch Center as we celebrate the life of a great leader and the spirit of the West!
