On Thursday, September 29, Lorraine Makler Wagner will bring her 276 piece letter collection to life. She will share the history behind the 50 year correspondence that she had with Ronald Reagan and will elaborate on the unique opportunities she had to meet Reagan in person. As part of the experience, visitors will also have the opportunity to view several of the letters and photographs from the Lorraine Wagner Letter Collection on display in the Reagan Ranch Center Exhibit Galleries.
About Lorraine Makler Wagner:
A prolific letter writer, Lorraine Wagner was in continuous correspondence with Reagan from 1943 through 1995. Letters dating from Ronald Reagan’s Hollywood days to his Alzheimer’s disease announcement underscore the character of the man and reveal a loyal pen pal relationship that follows Reagan’s life events.
About the Lorraine Wagner Letter Collection:
The Lorraine Wagner Letter Collection is a permanent collection in the Reagan Ranch Center Exhibit Galleries and can be viewed by the public on any Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am – 4:30 pm. The Reagan Ranch Center Exhibit Galleries are located at 217 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 (right across from the train station) and are free of charge.
