Advancing Freedom in the Era of New Socialism

July 17, 2010

Reagan Ranch Center, Santa Barbara, CA
AF 250

Full-time college students are invited to apply for Young America’s Foundation’s new seminar  Advancing Freedom in the Era of New Socialism, scheduled at the Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, California on July 15-17, 2010.

In the short time President Obama has been in power, the government has taken over or has a stake in the auto industry, student loans, health care, and our financial institutions.  The Russian Communist paper PRAVDA, had an eye-opening article about the administration’s policies which read, “Marx would be proud of what Obama is doing in the United States and around the world.”

On campus, students are rarely required to read or are even presented with an accurate view of free market ideas.

As a result, young people today are skeptical of the ideas of limited government and free enterprise. A Rasmussen survey showed that 33 percent of young people prefer socialism over capitalism, and 30 percent are undecided!

Over the course of three days, you will:

  • Learn conservative ideas from leading policy practitioners, activists, and scholars
  • Receive specific arguments you can use on campus
  • Discover techniques to promote conservative ideas through new media
  • Visit Ronald Reagan’s beloved Rancho del Cielo. The Ranch is a place of inspiration representing freedom and an important, historic site where Ronald Reagan crafted and inacted pro-freedom policies and initiatives throughout his presidency.
  • And more!

Confirmed Speakers:

More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Cost of attendance is $45, which includes accommodations, meals, and seminar materials.
