About Michael Steele

Michael S. Steele made history in 2003 when he was elected lieutenant governor of Maryland, becoming the first African-American elected to statewide office there.  A corporate finance attorney and former contributor to Fox News Channel, Mr. Steele’s writings on law, business, and politics have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, Politico.com, Townhall.com, and the Journal of International Security Affairs.

The Reagan Ranch Roundtable is typically held on the third Friday of each month at the Reagan Ranch Center in downtown Santa Barbara. Designed especially for the Santa Barbara community, the luncheons advance the principles that Ronald Reagan championed—individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. Santa Barbara community members and students gather to hear from speakers such as Jonah Goldberg, Dennis Prager,and Ken Starr, Michelle Malkin, and John Stossel.
