RajBioPicture2Raj is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he served as chairman of his conservative club and wrote for the Cornell Review, the campus conservative publication. He graduated in 2013 with a BA in government and a minor in Southeast Asian studies.

Raj was involved in various Young America’s Foundation programs throughout his time at Cornell, including the 9/11: Never Forget Project, campus lectures by Foundation speakers such as Karl Rove and Marc Thiessen, and the West Coast Leadership Conference. He received the Phillips Foundation Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship in 2012.

He was born in India and lived in Singapore and Thailand before immigrating to the United States with his family. His experiences growing up helped him recognize the need for strong American leadership that derives from the principles of free market economics and a strong national defense.

Raj aims to promote conservative principles to the youth of the country so that they may have the opportunity to hear ideas that are so often ignored at our educational institutions.

    • Raj, Ron Robinson mentioned a Reagan dinner in response to something I'd posted at the YAF ARCHIVE (the unofficial and informal association of YAF alumni at google groups, moderated by alumni Herb Stupp, Bill Saracino, Alan Brandstater and myself) and I decided to take a quick peek at the YAFd & YAF website to see what he was referring to. I didn't find it, but was happy to hear about your appointment. I knew Neil Wallace of Ithaca and recruited him to become a YAF chapter chairman and later Central NY YAF (state board) Director. Also spent time at that & other campuses. All in my role as NY YAF Executive Director under state chairman Herb Stupp some 40+ years ago. Also helped Marc Thiessen when he was a college student in upstate NY and his campus newspaper was being stolen/destroyed by campus left (one of my groups paid his expenses to come to CPAC and we got him into our private meeting with Ollie North). My background in YAF included being a high school, college & community chapter chairman, Queens County Council Chairman (25 chapters), NY YAF Exec Dir, national director and finally national YAF administrator (where I hired the staff including the Executive Director). Presently I am married to the former Philippines country manager of the largest Amway group in the world (the Bill Britt organization). I am happy to "make your acquaintance" here and want to welcome you to your work with YAF. If you're interested in being placed onto the YAF ARCHIVE email list let me know (need your email address). It is NOT listed on internet (purposely), and has about 60+ YAF alumni including some who go back nearly to the start of YAF in the early 1960's. We usually visit (from PA) the monthly Freedom Leadership Conference in northern VA and perhaps we can link up at one of those in 2014.
