  • Conservatives on the Rise: Olivia Mountz Joins the YAF Team

6/3/2013 12:02:43 PM Posted by Hillary Cherry

YAF Intern Olivia MountzOlivia Mountz is one of the newest interns at the Reagan Ranch Center. Although she is a native Northern California resident, she currently resides in Tucson as a University of Arizona Wildcat, where she is a junior studying Communications and Political Science with an emphasis on government and public policy. At the University of Arizona, she is an active member of the conservative club on campus and Alpha Phi Sorority. Olivia was first inspired to become a conservative activist in high school after attending one of our Reagan Ranch High School Conferences. Over the past year, she has worked with fellow students to promote the importance of traditional values on campus. Having witnessed a lack of conservative values among her peers, she plans to bring YAF to Tucson next year.

In addition to her involvement on campus, Olivia spent the past year interning at the Tucson Medical Center in Pediatrics ICU as a Nurse Assistant. Although her internship had no relation to her major, working with nonprofits is one of her greatest passions. In high school, Olivia founded her own nonprofit, Kids4Kids Summer Camp, in honor of a sick childhood friend. The organization raised over 3,000 dollars for UCSF Children's Medical Center, and she has been honored by the hospital for her efforts. In addition to sharing the same ideas as President Reagan, Olivia is an avid lover of horses and the great outdoors. Olivia and her family of six enjoy hiking, horseback riding, church, and yoga together in their free time. She is humbled by the opportunity YAF has given her to combine all of her passions at the Reagan Ranch Center this summer and is looking forward to the opportunities to come.
