The Daily Medium, a student-funded newspaper which dubs itself the “Entertainment Weekly of Rutgers University,” faked an article yesterday writing as YAF activist Aaron Marcus, who is Jewish. The article used his name and picture--obviously without Marcus’ permission--and defended Hitler and the Third Reich.
In a sick attempt to be funny, here are some of the lines the paper wrote (faking to be Marcus):
“What about the good things Hitler did?”
“I couldn’t help but think that history has given the Third Reich and its leaders a bad rap.”
“More importantly, the surviving member of the Jewish faith were inspired by these ‘atrocities’ to move to Palestine… and which I think would not have happened without the help of ol’ Adolf.”
"So the next time you are driving in a car, watching the movie ‘Armageggon’ or walking past Hillel, be sure to give Hitler a little thanks. I know I will."
This type of anti-Semitism is shocking and should be denounced by the school.
Rutgers University has already been under a federal investigation for anti-Semitism against Marcus and other Jews on campus. Young America’s Foundation and The Blaze reported last year on the violent threats made by students and faculty against Marcus’ life.
Marcus is a courageous defender of Israel and conservatism on campus—an unpopular duo. His real newspaper column in the Daily Targum (Rutgers’ more legitimate paper), titled “Marcus my Words,” courageously promotes freedom. Yet, this is the kind of filth he gets in return.
Here’s YAF’s interview with Marcus last year about the death threats he received:
