Long-time friend of Young America's Foundation and Young Americans for Freedom, Ann Cooley Buckley, passed away on December 30th, with her husband, former U.S. Senator James L. Buckley and family by her side. Senator Buckley was appointed Undersecretary of State for International Security Affairs and Judge of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit by President Ronald Reagan.
Ann's brother in law, William F. Buckley, hosted the Great Elm Conference at his home in Sharon, Connecticut where about 100 young Conservatives gathered and laid the groundwork for Young Americans for Freedom and adopted YAF’s guiding principles in the Sharon Statement.
Our prayers are with the Buckley family.
