• Hillary Clinton Thinks U.S. Should Be More Like Brazil

5/28/2010 4:13:51 PM Posted by Evan Gassman

Hillary Clinton is SleepyWhile the media is buzzing about the oil spill and President Obama’s embarrassing performance at his first press conference in nearly a year yesterday, this little gem of a news story appeared: Hillary Clinton thinks taxes aren’t high enough.

Hillary went on to say that America should be more like Brazil. (Brazil’s economy is ranked 113th in the world, according to the Heritage Foundation.) When you think of “economic powerhouse,” of course the first country that comes to mind is America China Brazil. Hillary’s comments:

The rich are not paying their fair share in any nation that is facing the kind of employment issues (the United States is), whether it’s individual, corporate, whatever the taxation forms are.

Brazil has the highest tax-to-GDP rate in the Western Hemisphere and guess what — it’s growing like crazy*. And the rich are getting richer, but they’re pulling people out of poverty … There is a certain formula there that used to work for us until we abandoned it, to our regret in my opinion.

    * Brazil’s economy is “growing like crazy” because they received a “bailout” from the International Monetary Fund, a convenient fact Hillary left out of her rousing speech.

Hillary’s solution to the ballooning debt – a ballooning debt with no end in sight – is to raise taxes. Young generations such as our own will be responsible for getting America’s financial house in order, and a tax hike will make things worse for us young people, not better.

    • After watching UK foatboll for 60 years, I have found it best to not get too high, or too low. Yes, that is VERY hard to do(for me especially). The times have changed since the Bear years, but then again some things never have. Todays media people, the internet and fans would have wanted Bear Bryant run out of town. Why you say? He had our best teams ever! Well, the weak schedule for one-Xavier(CINC.),Evansville,Marquette,Miss Southern(say 71-7),Villanova,The Citadel,N.Texas St.,Dayton, N.Dakota(83-0)Tenn Tech(72-13),George Washington, etc. AND performance against our hated rival Tennessee HAVING BLANDA AND PARILLI AT QB we were SHUT OUT by the Vols in 1946,1948,1949,1950 AND 1951. We scored 6 big points in 1947 to avoid being skunked 6 times in a row with the aforementioned QBs. Bear managed a win in his last year, 1953. Now Bear was a great coach BUT how much slack would the haters cut him, think about it? Blanton Collier owned UT, FIVE wins,Two losses and a TIE(10-10 in '60) BUT lotta fans weren't real crazy bout him, he wasn't the Bear? Didn't have a good staff either off '59 staff came Don Shula, Schnellenberger,Arnsparger HELLO DOLPHINS 17-0 team, fans wanted a Bear Bryant prototype GOT ONE, Bradshaw- HELLO thin 30 I'm not knocking ANY COACH nor am I endorsing keeping Joker BUT changing coaches has never helped us get where we all want to be- A CONTENDER !! UNTIL THE STATE AND THE SCHOOL MAKE SOME SERIOUS CHANGES no coach has a fair shot at making us more than average/decent, SUCH A SHAME, my whole lifetime of heartbreaks loving UK foatboll. SOME GREAT TIMES but much more gut wrenching weekends year in, year out. Come to the forum, let me tell you about UK-Mizzou history. GO CATS

    • 19/09/2012I think that a property fcerolosure can have a important effect on the borrower's life. Real estate fcerolosures can have a Several to 10 years negative influence on a client's credit report. A new borrower who has applied for a mortgage or any loans even, knows that the actual worse credit rating is, the more complicated it is to acquire a decent bank loan. In addition, it could possibly affect the borrower's capacity to find a decent place to let or hire, if that results in being the alternative houses solution. Good blog post.

    • 18/09/2012I have learned new thnigs by means of your blog site. One other thing I would really like to say is always that newer personal computer os's often allow more memory to get used, but they additionally demand more storage simply to perform. If one's computer can't handle far more memory and also the newest software package requires that ram increase, it might be the time to shop for a new Laptop or computer. Thanks
