For an event titled epic fail, it certainly was a great success. The event, officially titled the “Barack Obama Epic Fail Teach-In” was hosted by the GW Chapter of Young America’s Foundation and brought conservative heavyweights Donald Lambro of the Washington Times, Chris Horner of CEI and Jonah Goldberg of National Review to speak to a packed audience about Obama’s failed economic, environmental and national secuirty policies.
The failures vary greatly and range from a 19.1% unemployment for 16-24 year olds, an environmental policy which threatens to tax the CO2 we exhale and a foreign policy which involves negotiations with terrorists and a President that bows to foreign leaders.
The speakers also used literature from the David Horowitz Freedom Center, a partner of GW-YAF for this event, to claim that Obama is using the tactics of Saul Alinsky, a radical and the original community organizer to subvert and work within the current political order to destroy the American system and way of life.
Overall, the event was very successful in conveying an important message: Obama is a radical and he is not backing down. Students left the event with a much better picture of where Obama has gone wrong and were also allowed a venue to vent their frustrations about these failed policies.
